Techsphere has participated in various research institutes and event projects and demonstrated the entire process of creating kiosk products, starting from fresh new ideas, innovative designs, the manufacturing process of kiosk products, and the workings of the operating programs that run on the kiosk systems. Differentiated functions and designs are the two important advantages that set Techsphere apart from its competition.
On July 30 th , Korea 's Ministry of Information and Communication celebrated the opening of the new K-NBTC ( National Biometric Verification Data Test Center ), an addition to the Korea Information Security Agency (KISA) at a ceremony. The Center will provide test services to verify the accuracy and compatibility of the Korean biometric products and technical advisory for the pilot projects funded by the government and public agencies in order to encourage the development of biometric verification products that meet the international standards and help the local businesses to penetrate overseas markets. The industry expects the Center to serve as a springboard for the Korean biometric companies. Starting from this month, the Center will offer standard compliance test services to verify whether a biometric product is in compliance with the pertinent international standards, issue electronic passports, and provide technical advice for the government- or publicly funded pilot projects.

The multi-modal security system - a single device offering two or more security features ? is gaining broader acceptance. More and more people turn to multi-modal security products because they provide multiple levels of security, promising a more secure environment. As the public's interest in the multi-modal security system increases, security companies are seizing the opportunity by forming alliances or entering joint development agreements.
Techsphere (blood vessels), NitGen (fingerprints), and FirsTec (face) are jointly working on a project sponsored by ETRI to develop a multi-modal biometric authentication system. More specifically, it is a multi-modal biometric authentication system for immigration/border control, which is expected to fill demands all over the globe.
Team Leader Jaesong Kim of KISA said, ¡°The demand for multi-modal biometric verification products is on the rise, and we see technological convergence between biometric authentication and such areas as medicine, transportation, and electronic currency more often.¡± He said, ¡°In step with this trend, we expect to see more and more technological collaboration between businesses with different expertise and joint efforts to respond to the changing market demand.

The first-phase multi-modal biometric verification kiosk was built as part of the ETRI project. A desktop registration device and a kiosk-type authentication device have been developed separately. While we added a handle on top of the registration device to make it easy to use, we focused more on functionality and saving production costs rather than on design, considering that it is a pilot product.
The movie theater kiosk was developed jointly with TicketLink. Installed in 8 cities nationwide, including Seoul . First built and installed in 2003, the kiosks are still in operation.
